had a 340 Cubic Inch engine and a 6 pack that put out 290
Horsepower at 5,000 rpm's.
In 1969 AMC introduced the
390 Cubic Inch engine for its cars. models like the javelin
that were made to rival the mustang and camaro were introduced
in 68'.

by then the javelin and AMX were
one model. AMC's super muscle car came from the Hurts Inc, its
called the Hurst SC/Rambler. with a 390 CI it pushed
315 horses.
In 1968 Oldsmobile
introduced there Cutlass S W-31 "Ram Rod" since its
a W-31 it came with a 350 and custom air-induction in front of
the front tires. what made it a 'ram rod' was the bigger cam.
the 350 pulled out 325 horses!
